Julia Rothman is a celebrated illustrator and author based in Brooklyn, whose distinctive art graces everything from books and wallpaper to billboards. She continually shares her unique vision through storytelling with over seventeen books. Rothman received the 2023 Helen Adelia Rowe Metcalf Visionary Award and co-created ”Scratch,” an illustrated column for The New York Times that showcased unique small businesses. She founded The Figure Assembly, a studio that hosts creative workshops, such as figure drawing. She also co-founded Women Who Draw, an online directory to increase visibility for female illustrators, especially those from underrepresented groups, and is dedicated to promoting diversity in art. Rothman teaches and collaborates on projects, continually enriching the visual world.
